Melissa Cameron- Director and Choreographer

Artistic Director Melissa Cameron has danced and choreographed primarily in Philadelphia, PA, Amherst, MA, and Melbourne, Australia.  While in Melbourne, she produced a season of emerging works at Dancehouse, providing several talented Australian artists the opportunity to showcase their work.  There she discovered a commitment to supporting emerging artistic voices and a belief in the entrepeneurial possibilities of performance art -- an industry in which the goal is not material profit but cultural enlivenment.

CrystalNicole- Dancer

Graduating in 2014 from Temple University, CrystalNicole is an active performer and choreographer in the Philadelphia dance community. Aside from establishing FRED | Dance Co. in 2016, CrystalNicole is also a company member of allendance and Birds on a Wire Dance Theatre. In 2014-2015 she performed with Invisible River and Somanaut Dance. Although her studies have focused mostly on Modern Dance, she is also interested in dance for film. CrystalNicole’s film “In Weeping,” was recently selected for screening at both Project Trans(m)it: An International Film Festival, and Philadelphia Film Society’s 2016 Showcase.

While in school, she attended the America Dance Festival in 2013 and 2014, where she danced with artists from all over the world, including Leonie McDonagh and Jesse Zaritt. Before graduating with her BFA in 2015, she experimented with her first site specific work for her senior thesis, titled “a time and a place.” In this work, she was inspired by the feelings of being alone in a crowd and stripping away the “dancer” persona. She continued with these themes and performed her new piece “pause.” in SoLowFest 2016. She has performed with Anne-Marie Mulgrew and Dancers, is dancing in new works with IIIsquared, and is a Front of House Manager at FringeArts.
